The school nurse cut out a picture in the newspaper of a knitted scarf that was selling for $169 dollars(Marc Jacobs). I said "Ha!" and made it for $0 with yarn from my stash. It is a deep plum and I used size eight needles and just alternated 11 rows of stockinette stitch with 14 rows of garter stitch.

My DH is in CA for the next 10 days doing some training. This should help him get a job in such a tough market. I am holding my own with 4 kiddos here at home. (What was I thinking when I said I wasn't done when I just had 1?) Anyway, we're doing well and having casual, relaxed kid meals and craft time at night.

Wow, very nice!! Good luck to your hubby!
I love it....and to think that someone would actually pay $169 for a scarf!
Great job...!
I don't knit but I plan on taking a class this spring. I only learn to crochet a couple of years ago and I still have a lot to learn.
I have to admitt I do like the way knit looks over crochet.
Wow! If you sell it for $169, don't keep the market for yourself!
The scarf looks awesome! I walk into stores and see thing and say, hey I can make that! I haven't yet, but I always think it.
Happy Valentines Day! Sorry your hubby is gone right now. Your scarf looks fabulous!!! What a great job and a lot less than $165!
Thats so awesome! I saw some crocheted scarves and hats in a boutique selling for up to $50 and i went O.o just as a lady turned to me and said 'Oh my gosh what a bargain!'
