Darling Discovery!

There once was a bunny who wouldn't leave our yard......

We followed her to this suspicious looking pile of fur and grass.......

And there we found four new furry family members.......

My youngest DS and I are the most smitten with these little sweeties, we check on the every morning and make sure that nothing disturbs them, especially:
The Big Bear of the Backyard-Dusty

Have a marvelous Monday!

Loverrly Hexagons....

I'm sooo in love with this pattern, well, maybe not the pattern but the colors, well, maybe not the colors, the yarn, well I can't put my finger on why I love this project so much. I'm up to 15 darling, hooky, kooky hexagons.
I'm a mother hen without all her chicks at home this week. My 2 oldest are on vacation with their dad in Colorado. I sure hope they are safe and happy.

WIP Wednesday

Since I have so many WIPs piling up this summer I thought I'd play along with Mary Anne over at Every Day Crochet. I am making hexagons and I absolutely love the way they're turning out. I am using #30 from the book Beyond The Square . I hope to make a fabulous purse like the one featured in Sew Ritsy-titsy's blog.
I am also still working on my Flower Box Afghan seen in this post. Plugging away, making those squares. ;-)

Summertime + me = sooooo many WIPs!

It is hot here in Kansas! The themometer has been only in the mid-90's but the heat index has been topping out at over 105 degrees F. Since its so hot, what else do I do but peruse blogs, Ravelry, and Crochetville, and become inspired by so many other talented crafters out there. here are some of the things I'm working on.....

The Flower Box Afghan: This will be a X-mas gift for my niece. her room in jungle inspired and I couldn't resist these colors together. I'm trying to get a head start on my Christmas gifts, so I won't be out-og-my-mind when that time of year rolls around again!

Next is my 2nd Floaty Fall Scarf. My first is here. This one I did in thread and I'm so pleased with how its turning out. I only have about 3/4 of the final row left to do. Yippee!

I checked out a book called 200 Crochet Blocks and have been reading and just dreaming away about all the beautiful squares in there. (Only a true yarny knows my joy!) I sit by the pool and flip thru the pages at my leisure and just look, look, and look. I tried one, you can tell I've been inpsired by flowers lately. This on is #54.

I love the dimentionality of this block, much like the Flower Box afghan blocks.

Finally, I saw this bag over at Sew-ritsy-titsy's blog. Everything about it screamed at me to make one. Have you ever had a project step out at you like that? I literally ached until I could check the book out from the library, scavenge my stash for all my cotton, and start....pant, pant.

Here all my darling, darling hexagons:

Family news: My DD and I did make our first college visit this past week with my sis and her DD. We enjoyed our day tremendously and I think the girls are starting to get excited about college. Thank goodness we still have one more year left of High School.

Rain, rain go awaaay......

Here's what the Land Of Oz looks like today:So I am staying curled up at home with my family and we're watching NASCAR,F1 racing, and pretty soon World Cup Soccer.....Viva Espana!

Here are some more of the squares I've been stowing away for the Flower Box Blanket I've been working on.

Remember the picture of my sister's beagle I posted last week? Well, she was cuddled up with the Floaty Fall Scarf WIP that I had been working on......

Here it is! My Dh remarked, "Gee mom, sure is purply!" I'm hoping it will make a great addition to my fall wardrobe. I like the pattern and drape so much I started a second out of cotton thread, maybe it'll work for the very beginning of the school.
Notice the strange color? the lighting is sooooo bad in the house today because of the t-storms. it really is a lovely lime color.

We've got a busy weel planned. taylor and I are going to do a college visit this Thursday with my sister and her daughter , who is also a senior this year. DS:Austen and I have to make a quick trip up to his school(KSU) in Manhattan, KS. this week too, so he can meet with an advisor and get his new schedule hammered out for the fall. Now, the little boys and I just need to get some pool time in.
Crochet happy, happy goodness to you!
