Happy Saturday all! I'm excited to show you some autumn love I've been having. Look at these pumpkins! I think they came out really cute. I've made a total of 4 already, but 2 have flown the coop all ready and are in their new homes. It's been fun plowing through my fabric scraps and notions to find things to embellish with, Hopefully there'll be more to share.

Lastly, I have to leave you with some tried and true fat-free favorites, I make these year after year and friends and family alike are always clamoring for more.

Slowly but surely......

Hi! Long time no blog because we blew our USB ports in our home PC so uploading pictures has been nil. I am working on my work laptop this weekend.

I have several projects going on, but can only post about this afghan. You may have seen it in earlier posts here and here. I am making progress, since it is a Christmas gift I guess the urgency hasn't kicked in yet. I have all the squares connected into strip and have 2 stiched together. I am very happy with the results so far. I sure hope my niece will like it. The colors match her room perfectly.

Candy Corn Ami-part deux

For those of you who have followed me for any length of time, you have seen these little guys before. They are not only my favorite Halloween treat, but they are one of my all time favorite ami's to whip up. I love giving these guys away, 0 calories, no fat, and lots of love!

I spoke to my K-Stater the other day and he is doing me proud. His first majoe project is due Sunday and he says he is ready.

P.S. DH and I saw "The Informant" starring Matt Damon. It was a bewildering, strange, true story; very enjoyable!

P.S.S The margaritas at T.G.I. Fridays were especially good too! LOL

Week in Review.........

It was a good, fast week that ended with Halloween and Trick or Treating. We had parties at school on Friday and then came home for a couple of hours and went out door to door. The weather here was absolutely perfect. It was 70 degrees, no wind (in Kansas?) The boys made it for at least over an hour and came home with some heavy bags. They dumped it out on the floor and made a couple of piles: Good, Dad's, & giveaway. LOL.

I finished the baby blanket that I have been working on since Sept. I frogged the border twice. The first time I started with the wrong stitch and the next time it was too tight and made the blanket pucker all the way around. Now I am pleased with the result and will actually give it to the 3rd grade teacher in our building this coming week at her shower.

The pattern is from the 2008 365 Days of Crochet calendar and its Nov. 24th.

One more note, I completed and sold the other shrug and made a tidy little profit.

Pumpkins! Pumpkins!

Well we finally got around to carving our pumpkins today and even if I do say so myself, they look MARVELOUS! The little boys added capes to theirs and the one with the big, toothy grin is my husband's. Didn't he do a great job? He probably enjoys this tradition more than anyone. He says he doesn't remember getting to do it as a kid.




Here are my two little guys in their costumes. Notice the "action" poses. They getting really into it this year. They have never seen any of the Star War movies, but I guess these characters are now a part of our popular culture now.

I made some of these amigurumi candy corn:
Then gathered up my spider, ghost, and a jack-o-lantern and made a center arrangement for my dining room table. The fabric is a scrap I bought at JoAnn's a few years ago, I just hemmed it. Here's the finished product:

My dad had an album growing up by the Ray Coniff Singers and one of my favorite songs on it was "The Candy Man"(Cheesy, I know, but good, clean fun!) I was fooling around with a candy corn pattern and wondering if I could turn it into some sort of amigurumi and here's my latest:

Here is another original pattern by moi! I think he came out pretty cute. I was so busy designing him I didn't take notes on how he was made. I guess I'll have to deconstruct him and write out the pattern. Hope you like him! He is sitting on my mantle right now and I love him.

Viola!

I did not stuff the "skirt" of the ghost so that it would look flowy and more spooky. Mine stands about 6 inches tall. I also think I am going to suspend him with invisible thread above my ghost village I have here at home.
