Los proyectos......
Surely people who follow my blog regularly know that whenever there is a "blog blackout", meaning I haven't written in awhile, it doesn't mean my hooks and needles have been silent. Here are a few of things I worked on over the long holiday weekend:
I started this "Gap-tastic" cowl. I made one last year, but my college-age dd made off with it.
I finished up this snowflake hat from Drops Design, it is my god-daughter's X-mas present.
These little socks seem to be all the rage in blogland and I can see why. I can whip one up in as little as two hours and it's sooo cute and satisfying. You can find the pattern here: Stop and peruse her blog too, lots of eye candy!
I'm thinking of gifting these to my boys' teachers and other co-workers.

Progressing on projects.......
My hooks have been busy, but I don't have anything completed to share, but I thought..."What the heck?" Why not show things the way I see them nost of the time: In Progress!
Here is the WIP I gave you a little peek of last week and all of you guessed correctly when you guessed it to be a bag. A new, springtime bag for me to be exact. Notice I've added some interesting detailing, you'll have to wait just a tad bit longer, I've got to get to the store and buy some fabric for lining before I reveal it in its entirety.
Here are the other items I've been working on, you might recognize them too. More Uglees! These guys give me a quick fix to quench my creative outlets, because I get to play with all different looks from their eyes, mouths, and...... hair? This one very well may have something on top that all my other Uglees lacked!

TGIF
Another big snow!
Well, its Friday and snowing here in Kansas. We all groaned when we saw it, but this was different snow; a soft, chunky, wet snow. Great for snowmen, snowballs, and snowboarding. Plus it was only 34 degrees, so we could stay outside a lot longer than when we had our frigid X-mas snow with sub-zero temps.
DS Birthday cake
Last week my "baby" turned 7! We had 5 friends over for a "playdate" (code for how can we top the 4 other parties my son has already been to this month, so we were
Happy Birthday sweetie!
Projects: The end is in sight for the JRT afghan, I have about 30 more ends to weave in and then I can start on the border. I can't wait to take the final pic and show you all.
I have really been onto knitting these "Republic hats". They are so easy and satisfaction is guaranteed. here are too I just finished up. I am still searching for just the right button for the green one. I hope to start on the Republic Scarf this weekend.

Pulling out all the Wips!
Fellow bloggers; we have been challeged by Greyt Balls of Yarn to scavenge through our stash and see how many projects we currently have in progress or have left behind. I'm pretty good about finishing most of my Wips up or frogging them and putting the yarn to good use another way. About once a year when I organize my stash, patterns, and magazines; I also make a list of all the projects I may have started and would like to finsih. That is when I frog or finish. So, without further ado...........
The JRT afghan:(currently on row 108 of 125, the end is in sight!)
A shrug, I really want to get this one done this year!!
Floaty fall scarf( From the autumn issue of Crochet Today!)

Started this for Devin's 2nd grade teacher who was pig crazy, well, Devin is in 3rd grade now...maybe I didn't finish this because I was winging it (no pattern!)...LOL
Granny baby blanket, raan out of yarn, need to go buy some with next Michael's coupon.
The Republic scarf from Ravelry is on my needles also, but I frogged it baaack to the first row becasue my gauge was off, so nothing much to see there.
There you have it my dirty laundry...er...my Wips, hung out there for all to see.
Happy MLK day!

Sale!
I wore my gray shrug to school last week(check out this posthttp://thekansashooker.blogspot.com/2008/10/my-shrug.html) and a Third grade teacher in my building fell in love with it, so she commissioned me to make her 2!!! So here is the first one:
I used almost 2 skeins of RHSS in black fleck and a big button from WalMart. She paid me $35 and wants one in gray like mine with a big, sparkly button. I'm half-way up the back and sleeves on that one.
My other crochet-project for this weekend is I am making gift-bags for the kids teachers filled with my crocheted candy corn. I bought plastic treat bags and an going to put 3 candy corn ami's in each and then decorate with ribbon and raffia. I'll post a pic of the final project. I'm hoping it'll be cute.
I am home from school today because I worked 2 twelve hour days on Wed. and Thurs. this week for Parent-Teacher conferences....whewww! The weather is cold, dreary, and wet here , so we may just stay curled up inside today. My hubby and I do have "date-night". My MIL(who is a doll!) is coming to baby-sit while we get to have drinks, appetizers and a movie. I wonder what's out? I haven't seen ads to know if any good movies are out tonite.
Happy Firday everyone or if we were still on the island...Feliz viernes social!
