You Tube upload. (Caution...K-State afghan ahead)

">

I uploaded this short video to YouTube, not only because I'd like to see the response, but I was learning how to post videos. It's soooooo simple. You may see more to come.

Instant knitting gratification!

This washcloth I got over at Designs by Emily. I used Sugar and Cream cotton yarn and size 7 needles.
Don't mind me, just getting some small stuff out of my system. LOL

Finally...instant crochet gratification!

After working(endlessly) on the KSU afghan, I got to pick up a little project yesterday and finished it yesterday. Ahhhhh! Love the feeling of completing something so quickly with such good results. You'll be seeing a few "instant" projects in the next week or so...no afghans for awhile. LOL

Did you catch a peek of my youngest in the background?

Drumroll pu-leez!

Tah-Dah! What else can I say? It's done a full month before Austen leaves for school. I am proud I set a goal and accomplished it. I just hope it'll keep him warm wherever he falls asleep in his dorm room. Now I have to decide when to present it to him. I'm thinking maybe I'll just drape it on his new bed in his dorm before I leave, after moving him in.

Knitting

Here is the progress I've made so far on my City Mouse pattern from Lionbrand. If the color looks different, its because I frogged the first one at least 4 times. I was using Paton's wool yarn and it was giving me fits with my dpns. (They're aluminum and it kept slipping off!) I changed to good ole RHSS and its texture sure helped me get through those first couple of tough rounds! I hope to finish this today.

20 years of friendship!

I got to have dinner with 2 of my very best friends last night. Dana(in red) was a student teacher for Carolyn(in black) when I first started teaching with Carolyn as a 4th grade teacher in Lawrence, KS.
We all teach in the Blue Valley District now and have remained buddies this entire time. We never go more than a few months without a get together.
We ate at Houlihan's and I had asian-inspired chicken lettuce wraps. Yum!

Time-out for Knitting!

I was browsing the free patterns over at Lionbrand came across the cutest knitted mouse pattern. The only catch was you have to use double pointed needles(dpns), so I am going to teach myself how to use these. I have been knitting for almost 6 years now and can't believe I've been so intimidated not to try these until now. But the desire for the cute mouse finally conquered the fear of the dpns so here I goooooooo..........

KSU update....I am now farther along than this, but this is just the latest picture; the end is in sight!!!!

What's in your wallet?

Crafty Christina posted this meme over at her blog and i found it so interesting see all the different library cards. Sooooo, here's mine:

I am a huge fan of the Public Library and I must spout off that we are so lucky to be living in a country that allows and enables us to have such a luxary at our finger tips. There are so many people in this world not privy to the wealth of books. (Does it show that I love books?)

Here is what the boys and I checked out this week:

Notice mine are all fiber-related, in fact I jusy recieved an email today telling me my copy of Tasty Crochet is ready to be picked up at the library. The boys are heavy nto non-fiction.

We've been out of town for the past few days and I'm just getting caught back up on life. I'll have a great post in a day or two. My folks' 50th and Austen's afghan.
